Mie-chuo Medical Center was established in 1998 and has been designated as a major institution coordinating the network of Child Medical Health and Development by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare.
The institute has conducted state-of-the-art researches in a variety of fields including neonatology, developmental immunology, developmental psychology, behavioral science, cognitive science and, making the most of its consultation work.

The goals we strive to achieve are;

1 - explaining mechanisms of the feto-maternal immune tolerance, factors causing premature birth and characters of neonatal immune system.

2 - explaining maturity of the immune mechanism and adoption process from the fetal period.

3 - elucidation of roles of thrombin and platelet activation in the mechanism of chronic lung disease.

4 - characterization of molecules of the receptors which play important roles in post BM transplantation immune system.

5 - providing guidelines on the early diagnosis and treatment from the point of psychology, behavioral science and developmental psychology.
